“TREE”

Wood: Purple Heart, Wenge, Curley Maple, American Holly, California Buckeye Burl

Demensions: 49.5” height, 15.25 " depth, 23” width

This piece is called “Tree” because the image formed after book-matching the side panels closely resembled a tree.

Did you know…A burl is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a deformed manner. It is usually found on the trunk, at the base of the tree, and sometimes underground in the form of a rounded outgrowth. It is caused by some kind of stress, such as injury, virus, fungus, insect infestation.

Did you know… Purple Heart wood here on this piece is incredibly strong and durable, endemic of Mexico and Brazil, known for its grain pattern and unique color rarely found in other wood types.

Woods: Purple Heart, Wenge, Curley Maple, Golden Camphor Burl, Waterfall Cherry

Pulls: Hand-formed glass

Demensions: 49” height, 15.5” depth, 21” width

Did you know… Wenge is a dark color wood and unique amongst the worlds most exotic. This tough tropical woods distinctive chocolate color, can sometimes be augmented by gold, orange or red tint to it. Other names used for this particular wood are, African Rose Wood, Foux Ebony, Dikela and Mibotu. Some people think that it’s rich in mystical powers and use ceremonial masks and statues paying homage to gods.

4 drawer Lingerie Cabinet - #1 in Series

Wood: Birds Eye Maple, Curly Maple, Quilted Maple, Wenge & Purple Heart and Mother of Pearl

Pulls: Mother of Pearl.

Did you know… Quilted Maple refers of a type of figure in maple wood it is seen on the tangential plane (Flat-sawn) and looks like a wavy “quilted” pattern, often similar to ripples on the water.

Wood: Curly Cherry, Birdseye Maple, Wenge & Purple Heart, American Holly, Zebra Wood

Demensions: 49.5” height, 15.5”depth, 21” width

Pulls: Hand-formed glass

Did you know… The stiff and strong wood of the domestic Curly American Black cherry, is usually considered to be in the same class as mahogany for usage in the United States. It is often described as wood for fine furniture as quality figure appears in less than 2% of all the cherry trees harvested.

“HANSEL AND GRETEL” - SOLD

Pandemic piece #1

Woods: Curly Cherry, Curly Maple, Quilted Maple, Wenge, Purple Heart, Holly.

Dimensions are 36” height, 16’ depth, 24” width

These beautiful end tables are result of the “stay at home” order in the Pandemic of 2020.

The pulls are hand-formed glass created by Slow Burn Glass in Richmond.

Did you know… Slow Burn Glass Studio was originally founded in 2006 by glass artist and instructor, Bryan Goldenberg in Oakland, California. In July of 2018, Slow Burn expanded into a larger studio in Richmond, California, where artists, students, and special events have access to a 5000-square-foot facility with a 500 lb. furnace.

PANDEMIC PIECE #2 - SOLD

Coffee Table

Woods: Lace Wood, Holly, Curly Maple, Purple Heart, Wenge. Apron is comprised of Purple Heart, Wenge and Maple

Dimensions are 36” height, 16’ depth, 24” width

This beautiful coffee table is the result of the “stay at home” order in the Pandemic of 2020.

Did you know… Coffee tables were designed as low tables and this idea may have come from the Ottoman Empire, based on the tables in use in tea gardens. However, as the Anglo-Japanese style was popular in Britain throughout the 1870s and 1880s and low tables were common in Japan , this seems to be an equally likely source for the concept of a long low table.

“SOPHIE”

Pandemic Piece #3 -Console table with intricate inlays.

Woods: Tiger Maple, Wenge, Purple Heart, American Holly, Claro Crotch Walnut.

Dimensions are 30 3/4 height, 17 1/2 depth, 48 1/4 witdth

This beautiful coffee table is the result of the “stay at home” order in the Pandemic of 2020. I used a new wood in this design, Claro Crotch Walnut, to highligh its rich depth and patterns.

Did you know… The history of the console table is an interesting and rich one. It's believed that the origins of this piece of furniture are in French and Italian furniture design. Large console tables were a must-have in aristocratic mansions and palaces in the late 17th century and throughout the 18th century.
